“Basket of Joy” is a community-driven initiative by Dream of a Child International designed to restore dignity and hope to highly vulnerable groups, including widows, orphans, and struggling families in marginalized areas like Malindi. Through this program, the organization distributes customized care packages filled with essential food staples and household supplies to relieve economic burdens. More than just a donation drive, the initiative brings communities together to share in worship, meals, and emotional encouragement, reminding participants that they are loved and valued.

During August 2026, Dream of a Child International, in partnership with local outreach initiatives, successfully hosted the Daily Vacation Bible School (DVBS) in Chesongoch, Kerio Valley. Nestled within the Elgeyo Marakwet region, this vibrant week-long event brought together hundreds of children from the community for transformative discipleship, mentorship, and scripture engagement. Beyond interactive Bible lessons, the outreach provided a safe haven for kids to bond through sports, creative games, and community-building activities, leaving a lasting spiritual and social impact on the families of the Kerio Valley.
