Dream of a Child International
We are a Christian non-governmental organization which was started in the year 2010 with the intention to support children and minors in marginalised communities to gain access to quality Education through sponsorship programs, mentorship programs and socio-economic empowerment, working in different areas of Kenya.
We also aim to empower women, especially widows, to help them gain skills that will help them become financially stable and hence enable them to take care of their families.

About The Founder
Nelly Kagoru
Nelly Kagoru is the founder of Dream of a Child International Organization, she started this in the year 2010 with the aim to provide basic education and financial empowerment for vulnerable children and their families. Through this organization, she sponsors and offers psychosocial support to vulnerable children in Kenya and their families. Alongside her dedication to social responsibility, Nelly is a certified therapist specializing in helping individuals and families navigate issues related to mental health, family dynamics, and relationships.
As a leader, Nelly sets strategic goals for organizations, motivating teams to achieve objectives. She finds joy in building relationships and teams, fostering leadership potential in others. Additionally, Nelly is an accomplished author, having written the book “Accountability, A Biblical Principle,” which earned her two ACABA awards in November 2021. Graduating from DePaul University in Chicago, she brings nearly a decade of experience, working directly with people, fostering trust, and facilitating conversations to strengthen family connections.
